Anxious moments were spent wondering if the weather would affect the attendance, because it had been raining continuously since the day before. But the bad weather really didn’t matter as the room quickly filled, and soon only a few seats remain unoccupied.
After the usual playing of the National Anthem, and Opening Prayers, the program started with welcoming remarks from Dean Betty Lontoc, CEU Dean for School of Science and Technology. The amiable dean was so thrilled to see former students and alumni attending the seminar so she asked for a show hands from former student attendees, and after that, she reminisced a little back to the days when they only had two classes for the department. Alumnus Lyn Cruz was so excited to see her former classmate Stella Olea and waved to her from across the room. Another alumnus was Leni Rivera of Aeropack. Later, they all had a group picture taken for former and current students and faculty members of CEU.
The program proceeded with some film viewing by Ms Linda Yu regarding who is aging and what causes aging. After which Dr. Gertrude Chan explained to everyone how to substantiate anti-aging claims in skin care products. Amchem General Manager Amador Vallejos then enlightened everyone on market trends in local and foreign markets, as well as popular claims used by skin care products. Ms Linda Yu then showed to everyone how to stop aging, and the functional ingredients used, plus their mechanism of action. Ms Pinky de Jesus and Ms Marilyn Chan then demonstrated the formulation techniques.
After the program, there was group picture taking, and then everyone was treated to merienda and more picture taking. The Amchem staff made sure everyone had food and drinks including the CEU technicians and food staff. When everyone finally left, the Amchem team packed up and started to prepare for the next CTP presentation, scheduled for this coming August. We hope to see everyone there again.
